We are Graduate Gemologists from the Gemological Institute of America We received Graduate Gemologist diplomas in residence at the Carlsbad, California campus in 1997.  We are appraisers, certified by the International Society of Appraisers, and have earned USPAP (Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice) certifications from The Appraisal Foundation.

We have worked directly in all aspects of the jewelry industry, including wholesale, retail, consignment, appraisal, quality assurance, design, fabrication, and repair.

We currently serve as Denton’s only certified, USPAP compliant Gemologist appraisers. We are trained to write appraisals for Federal functions and to USPAP standards.

 
Who We Are

We are siblings and native Dentonites!

We appreciate the support of our spouses, Monica Amyx and Calvin Gorman, and of our mother, Elaine Amyx. 

For unconditional love and support, Joe has a 4-week-old daughter, Aliya Valencia Amyx, and a cat.  Lora has two dogs and three cats.
